Job Overview:
We're seeking a Underwriter/ Finance Analyst to support the acquisitions and capital markets team. The role focuses on financial modeling, deal data organization, market research, and preparation of investor and lender materials.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in Excel-based financial analysis, a keen eye for detail, and an interest in real estate or investment underwriting.

Key Responsibilities:
Acquisitions & Underwriting
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for hotel acquisitions, including operating forecasts, valuation analysis, and scenario testing.
- Input and validate property-level financial data to support accurate underwriting.
- Assist in the due diligence process, reviewing property financials, third-party reports, and brand Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Prepare investment committee memos and presentations summarizing underwriting assumptions, deal risks, and strategic rationale.
Capital Markets
- Support debt and equity capital raising efforts by preparing lender presentations, deal marketing materials, and transaction case studies.
- Track hotel financing markets, including lending spreads, debt maturities, and capital availability.
- Assist senior leadership in evaluating and structuring joint ventures, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
- Compile and organize transaction data and documentation to support financing and investor processes.
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market-level research on hotel performance, supply pipeline, demand drivers, and competitive sets.
- Summarize market reports and third-party analyses into concise, data-driven insights.
- Monitor macroeconomic and real estate capital market trends relevant to the hospitality sector.
- Prepare benchmarking and industry analyses for internal strategy and external communications.
Transaction Execution
- Coordinate with brokers, lenders, attorneys, consultants, and brand representatives during acquisition and financing processes.
- Manage diligence checklists, track deliverables, and assist in reviewing key legal and financial documents.
- Support portfolio monitoring, reporting, and asset management initiatives as needed.
Non-Negotiables:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or Hospitality.
- 13 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, capital markets, investment banking, consulting, or financial analysis (35 years for Senior Analyst).
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting financial statements, P&Ls, and underwriting models.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with ability to translate complex data into clear summaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with hospitality or commercial real estate assets.
- Familiarity with tools such as Argus, STR, CoStar, or other hotel analytics platforms.
- Exposure to investment memos, lender packages, or deal marketing materials.
